You'll never guess...

So today has been an interesting day.   I had just gotten back from the gym and went to start the laundry when the phone rang.  Imagine my surprise when I realized that it was Aaron's school!  Yes it's finally happened,  our tender hearted Aaron was in his first fight.  And it was a doodle!   Sadly.......the tree won.  :( The conversation with Aaron's school went something like this.  words out of ""'s are my own thoughts. "hello?" "Is this Julia?" "yes"   great another telemarketer "this is Mrs ****** from ****** Elementary,  I have Aaron in the office here." "yes"  oh no did he throw up?  He didn't seem sick.... "Aaron was outside playing during lunch recess and well... he ran into a tree." "Uh...."   lunch recess?  GOOD GRIEF what time do these kids eat lunch?  10:00am?  wait he ran into a what??????  Gosh I wish I could say he got that from his dad's side of the famil...

The Birthday Party!

Image
These were Bridgett's cupcakes for her Birthday,  quite simple but she loved them!  she is so into colors right now and LOVES the round sprinkles.  Bridgett's Birthday started really early with having lost more cupcakes to frost for the Bake sale AND for her Birthday but as you can see I had plenty of help!  We decided to decorate her Birthday with Polka Dots,  Here she is waiting to blow out her little candle! And here she is enjoying her feast of Cheese and homemade rolls! This seems to be her favorite toy that she got for her Birthday,  Poor Aaron has yet to even be allowed to play with it.  She loves to hear it sing her the alphabet and she's getting really good at singing along! We have discovered that Bridgett is not really into opening presents,  or perhaps she is but not in the usual rip everything apart and move on to the next present way that most kids do.  Bridgett likes to take her time and when I say take her...

Happy Birthday To Our Beautiful Bridgett!

Image
3 year ago,  Bridgett joined our family,  And in a good way it has never been the same sense!  She is the best little sister Aaron could ask for and the best big sister Colette could dream to have!  She loves to play with Aaron and is not particular happy when he goes to school.   Every morning she gets on her backpack and sheds a few tears when Aaron gets to leave and she does not.  Some of Bridgett's favorite things are, Snuggling with Mommy,  Balloons,  Hot wheels cars, trains, strawberries, and balls of all sizes!  She loves to be outside on the swing, and also love to play play dough, do stickers and color!    Things she does not like are Kisses,  getting them or giving them,  sitting still long enough to eat a meal,  playing by herself (but she is getting better!) and sleeping!  We are so happy and grateful Bridgett that you are a part of our family!  Thank you for making us smile every day...

Cupcakes for a cause. PART TWO!

Image
So what do you get when your on day one of the bake sale and ALL 600 cupcakes sell before the end of the day???? You get another excuse to bake another 3 dozen cupcakes!!!!! I had just cleaned the house,  wiped down the kitchen dried the last dish and put it away.  Crawled up to the bedroom threw myself down on the bed to relax for a bit when I opened my laptop and realized that Kelli had such great success at the bake sale that there were no cupcakes to sell for day two of the bake sale!  So out of bed I crawled,  and at 9:00 pm after a day of baking cupcakes and rolls for Bridgett's Birthday party the next day,  I found myself in my spotless kitchen getting ready to start the process again.  And of course I was not the only one,  there were many of us baking into the night trying to lend a hand for the next day.  This time  I opted to go with green and pink cupcakes.  It's only service if it hurts a little right?  :) ...

Cupcakes for a cause.

Image
What do you get when all these things sit out on your counter?  You get a wonderful excuse to bake Cupcakes!!  My friend Kelli is hosting a Cupcakes for a cause Bake sale,  where all the proceeds go to help find a cure for Children s Cancer.   So I offered to help with the baking,  And some of the sign creating.  I put together a sign that had the logos of all our sponsors on it, and I also got to bake 2 dozen Girl cupcakes.  I decided to go with Vanilla so that I could color the cupcake batter half pink and half purple  so that the middle of my cupcakes looked like this. I used princess liners and also Tinkerbell liners.  Seems that most the little girls I know these days are very much into one or the others.   I frosted them all with just my swirl tip in white frosting  (homemade of course!)  and spray painted half of the cupcakes pink and half purple and sprinkles sparkly sugar on top along with a cupcake ...

Thinking of my sweet baby Colette

Karen Taylor Good Precious Child lyrics In my dreams, you are alive and well Precious child, precious child In my mind, I see you clear as a bell Precious child, precious child In my soul, there is a hole That can never be filled But in my heart, there is hope 'Cause you are with me still In my heart, you live on Always there never gone Precious child, you left too soon Tho' it may be true that we're apart You will live forever... in my heart In my plans, I was the first to leave Precious child, precious child But in this world, I was left here to grieve Precious child, my precious child In my soul, there is a hole That can never be filled But in my heart there is hope And you are with me still In my heart you live on Always there, never gone Precious child, you left too soon, Tho' it may be true that we're apart You will live forever... in my heart God knows I want to hold you, See you, touch you And maybe there's a heaven A...

Aaron's new ride

Image
Aaron seems to have taken a shine to Uncle's new ride! I'm personally hoping he grows out of it before he's old enough to drive. But for now he's having a great time just sitting on "the cool bike!"

Family Birthday Party

Image
Today we had the family Birthday party for the September Birthdays. We have quite a few girls born in sept. Auntie Susan, me, Bridgett, Emersynne, Aimilee. what will we ever do if we have to share our birthday month with a boy?!? lol Anyway Grandma P. had the dinner at her house and I attempted to make the birthday cake. Oh it was BEAUTIFUL on the inside but I need more work on the outside! Hence the last post, anyway I am finally putting up photos of said cake. It's a white cake with raspberry filling and white frosting, I love the fact that it's a tall cake and the cake is so moist! just must get better at the decorating part! Sorry they are a little fuzzy, I'm so used to using my camera and I'm not very good at using Dusty's phone!

Sad but true.

The sad sad truth is that I'm a much better sewer than cake decorator. :( Which would not be such a huge ordeal, we all have things were not good at right? But sadly it's a huge problem when one secretly wishes to one day open a Bakery. *sigh* So I guess the question is, can I improve? Or am I destined to only serve cupcakes in my future Bakery?

Bridgett's first real haircut

Image
Oh I've cut Bridgett's hair several time, well trimmed it really but I decided this week to take her to Adalie's to have her give her a really nice cut, I just wanted a bob something easy to do and manage, I didn't even mind if she hacked of a few inches, Bridgett's hair is like mine and really fine so we acutually look like we have more hair the shorter it is, I think her new hair cut is darling! She even let's me blow it dry some mornings! and then its' even more darling!
