Enjoying the "new"

Image
The children have been having a great time enjoying their Christmas vacation and plying with all their new toys.  Aaron got a remote control helicopter ,  It's not in the photo but he has had a great time playing with it all over the house.    Bridgett loves that she now has pink lego's to match all of Aaron's blue boy legos! And even Daddy is very happy with how his collection of leather bound books has grown with all his Christmas present additions!

Christmas Projects for this year.

Image
I had a lot of fun this year working on quilts for the grandma's and mom's for Christmas presets.  I actually started in Jan of this year.  I needed something to do.  Something to keep my busy so I decided to work more on getting better at quilting.  (one day I will actually keep a quilt that I make)  So I started Christmas presents right after Christmas was over.  Crazy maybe but it was actually lots of fun.  Most of the fabric I actually ordered off the internet which is more challenging than you would think!  But all in all I did pretty good getting colors to match and go together.  Through out the year I worked on them,  I actually don't have a picture of the one I made for Mom C.  which is sad cuz it turned out really cute,  it was dark brown with teel.  But here are photos of the rest of them. This one was for Grandma Smith,  She loves browns and greens.   This one was for Grandma Wendel,  after I...

And outing with Uncle

Image
Today Uncle called and wondered if there was anyone here who wanted to go and see his horse.  So Daddy and Aaron and Bridgett went with Uncle and had a great adventure!  Daddy took lots of photos for me to see, and judging by how dirt both the kids were by the time they came home I know they had a wonderful time! They helped Uncle rub and brush his horse down.  Bridgett was thrilled to be so close to a horse!  She loves horses! They helped push the wheel barrow. They helped uncle fill up the wheelbarrow. and conquered the sawdust pile. Help uncle muck out the stall... and I think the highlight of the day would be... Thank you Uncle for a great and wonderful afternoon of hard work and horses!

Merry Christmas!

It's Christmas day!  We had to set our alarms a little bit earlier than normal this morning since we have 9 am church to add to the morning festivities.   I felt so bad because we had to wake poor Bridgett up and after we kept her up so late last night it was sad!  Poor thing was exhausted! She was a little happier after we got some milk into her but she really was kind of out of it all morning! I didn't do very good at getting photos this year,  I guess I'd better work on that next year,  I was just enjoying watching everyone having such a good time that I forgot to take photos.   I think everyone had a great time!  Grandma Teetah, Grandpa Ken and Uncle Kyle came to open presents with us.   After that we all got ready for Church,  we joined Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Roy and Nannie and Papa in Grandpa Roy's ward since he's Bishop and needed to be there.  Bridgett sat on Mom's lap almost the whole sacrament meeting with a glazed over...

Christmas Eve party

Image
Every Christmas Eve we have a family party.  It's been a tradition since before I was born,  this year we invited all the grandparents over to our house for dinner.  A make your own hoggie sandwich  meal,  with all the handmade desserts.   Also the kids and Daddy read Luke 3 the story of Jesus's birth while the children laid out the nativity pieces as the scriptures were read.  We like to do a little spiritual with a little fun:)   After that we played christmas carols with the our hand made chimes.  It was lots of fun.  This year we had a special treat,  this year we wrapped up two onsies one for each Grandma to open.   The tag on pkg1  said Baby A is..... and the tag on pkg 2 said Baby B is.... And this was how we let the family know that we had two baby boys on the way.   After our own Christmas Eve Party we took the kids up to my Aunt and Uncles house and we joined in their party.  There were lots of gam...

But I want to!

Bridgett was very upset with me tonight,  I told her that she needed to hurry and go to bed so we could have Christmas in the morning.  Already it was WAY past bed time.  Aaron chimed in with,  We need to hurry so Santa can come!  Bridgett looked at me and told me that she wanted to wait on the roof for Santa so that she could pet his reindeer.   ummmmmmmmm.......... no! But I supposed to pet his reindeer!  (this is Bridgett's latest thing,  when you tell her no she says But I supposed to!) I find it very funny that she is not interested in what gift can be found under the tree in the morning she just wants to pet Santa's reindeer.  This child is way to much like her mommy.  Maybe she will actually grow up to be a Vet like I always wanted to be :)

Girls? Boys? Or One of each?

Today we had our big U/S at the Dr's office.   Aaron and Bridgett wanted to come with us so we figured since this was the last time we would be doing this it would be fun to let them come.  I think Aaron was very disappointed.   I think he thought that what he got to see on the screen was NOT looking much like a baby!  So after a while he just stopped paying attention.  And Bridgett?  I'm not really sure she was ever paying attention.   The first thing that Dr Bean told us was that the main factor of this pregnancy was to not let me get stressed so he told me right away that if there was anything that he could not see he was just going to make an appointment to send me to the Hospital to have the neonatal specialist do an U/S just to make sure that everything is looking good.  Not because he is worried but because you can't always see as much with twins and he does not want me to stress that something is going wrong with what we cant see. ...

Christmas Sugar Cookies

Image
One of the kids favorite things to do is to frost and decorate sugar cookies.  What can I say my kids love to bake!  I wonder where they get that from?   I frosted the cookies for the kids and let them put the sprinkles on.  these were Aaron's cookies...  and these were Bridgett's...  wow  that's a lot of sprinkles!!  I hope that everyone likes their cookies very crunchy.  At one point My sister called and I was having such a good time talking to her that I was not really watching my little ones as well as I should have been and I looked up to see... This!....  I guess Bridgett thought that the sprinkles looked very very yummy!  Thank goodness for Daddy who took her upstairs and washed off her face and her hands so that she could come back and join the cookie frosting.

I do it myself!

Image
I do it myself!  Is a phrase that we hear a lot around here.  It's Bridgett's way of learning and growing,  and it's far more fun to hear when I'm not in a hurry then on those days that are rushed!   No but really she is doing more and more on her own and getting very good at it!  It does take a few attempts....  sometimes on the first attempt something is not... quite...right... And  Perfect!!!!   Sometimes it takes a little time but she's getting very good at getting it right in the end!
