Five Beautiful Blessings Between Heaven & Earth

I just had my first "duh mom!" moment.  And even though Aaron never exactly said those words.  Trust me it was VERY clear that that is exactly what he meant!   Here is how it went... I was talking to Aaron and he said "I think I know what I want to be for Halloween this year." me- "what?" Aaron- "tooth paste!" me- "really?" Aaron- "yea that would be so cool!" After a min I said "what should Bridgett be?" and he said  "I don't know." And I said "should we dress her up as a toothbrush?" And he says  "NO!!!!!!!  No one dresses up as a toothbrush that's just weird!" And I said "well if your going to be tooth paste why can't she be a toothbrush?" "No Mom!  Not Tooth paste  Two face!   HAHA  Mom your silly!" Yep that's me,  silly mom,  who grew up when people actually DID dress up at toothpaste and toothbrushes for halloween. And who is ...

This year Easter happened to also be Colette's 15 months anniversary.   And it was also only the 2nd time that the 24th has landed on a Sunday since the day she was born.  I'm a very grateful that the 24th only lands on a Sunday about 2 times a year.  I'm not sure I could handle it more than that right now.   So I tried very hard to focus on Easter,  that because of what Jesus did for us that our family can once again be together forever.  That we will all have a resurrected body and that I will raise my daughter in the next life. But of course even with the joy I feel at knowing these thing and even with how grateful I am to my older brother for what he has done to make this possible there were still a few moments of sadness.   But all in all it was a good day.  One of those Bitter Sweet days. Today Aaron had his first friend party!  Oh my goodness he was so excited!  I sure hope that it lived up to his expectations.  As for me?  I've been working on this party for weeks!!!  Of course it had to be Star Wars!  What other option could there be?   So I did a little graphic design and came up with an invite for his friends. of course the addresses have been blacked out to protect the innocent :)  Aaron was so excited about his invitations.  He said the were "really cool!" and of course we had to make each child a light saber,  which we made out of pool noodles pvc pipe and tape.  They look pretty good right?  Each child got to take one home with them from the party.  The children seemed to have a great time running around the yard playing light sabers with each other. We played Lego Star Wars Bingo.  I found some digital files on the internet for it but they wanted 16 dollars so I decided to make my own. ...

So we set up the lights and backdrop and got Aaron's 7 year photos. Happy Birthday to my big boy!  I can't believe how grown up you are!

Today is Aaron's official  birthday.  I can't believe my baby is 7?  It does not seem like its' could possibly be 7 years since he joined our little family!  Where does   the time go???   Aaron was so excited to take "treats" to his class at school.   And me?  It kills me that people hire me to do cupcakes for showers, parties and other things but I have to BUY baked goods to take them to my child's school.  But then as Nannie says... think how grateful you are that some OTHER people have to buy their too. and so I say fair enough.   So Aaron's choice was doughnuts.  which actually lessened the blow.  I have no desire to learn how to make doughnuts!  So buy them I will!  Bridgett and I took Aaron to school,  he held Bridgett's hand for me while I held the doughnuts.   As I'm sitting in the hallway waiting for the bell to ring so I could drop off the treats  I'm standing there thinking of all the ot...

So could not find something that I wanted to put up at Colette's headstone for Easter and her Birthday flowers were gone so I decided that I would make something and see what I came up with.  I love Hobby Lobby they have a great section for the up coming holiday and often things in that section are 50% off even before the holiday comes,  so for not to much money I found some really cute easter egg on sticks and just bought some pink daisy's and some greenery and threw it all together.  I of course found this darling sparkly butterfly and fell in love with it so I attached it to the flowers and let he hang free. Happy Early Easter Colette!  We think of you often and miss you Eternally!

Today was Aaron's Family Birthday Party.  He is so excited to be turning 7!  I can't believe he is just one year away from being baptized!  This year Aaron picked the theme Star Wars for his party.  This year is also the first year he will be having a friend party too!  (next sat)  

Today was Dad's birthday, And for his birthday we decided to make him this... Dusty gave me the idea that we should create a survival kit for him, since he is the Bishop of his  ward.   So all month I have been thinking and trying to find scriptures and cute ideas and scriptures to go with things,  and this is what I came up with.
