Happy Halloween!

Image
The kids are so excited for today to be Halloween,  Aaron was so excited to get up and put on all of his costume that he could wear to school today.  Bridgett was very upset that Aaron got to wear his costume so early and at one point tried to take it off for him.   I do have to admit that I dislike very strongly when halloween ends up being on a school night.  nothing like coming home getting the kids a snack,  doing homework,  trying to squeeze in dinner and then off to trick or treating before it time to go home and get to bed and hope that the kids act well the next day at school on less sleep and way more sugar than they normally live on :)    Oh well at least it only happens once a year right?   Aaron decided that he wanted to be spiderman,  I waned him before Oct that we dont' get to buy store bought costumes sometimes we have to work with what we have.  But then we found a 9$ spiderman costume and really I have to admit th...

Pumpkin carving time

Image
Tonight we carved pumpkins,  Aaron was so excited to draw his own face and carve it into his pumpkin,  and Bridgett felt very strongly that she should also be able to use a knife on her own pumpkin as well but she finally settled on just drawing faces on the back of her pumpkin while I carved the front out.  This one was Colette's ;)  This was Aaron least favorite part!  He still has not changed since he was little,  does NOT like to get his hands dirty,  he kept telling me that it was slimy but I told him if he was old enough to carve he was old enough to clean it out himself too!

Fall has arrived!

We have been doing lots of raking of leaves lately,  seems like we just get lots done when the wind blows and the next morning we have just as many on the ground again.  But I guess it's better to do little bit at a time than to do all of it at once.    The good news is that I've had lots of help!  Aaron and Bridgett are great at raking up piles and then jumping into them!  And daddy is lots of help too! It's a good thing they enjoy the leaves because we still have lots of leaves left to go!

Photo Shoot on the tracks

The other week I did a photo shoot for a good friend and her family,  we did it over in Lehi by the train tracks.  It's kind of fun to have a more rustic background.  Here are a few of my favorite shots.

A van bought and a car sold

So with the news of both the upcoming babies we knew we would need to find a van.  This I was really really not looking forward to.  When we were pregnant with Colette,  I seemed like we were always looking for a van,  the day before I went into labor with her what were we doing?  Out looking for a new Van.  We never did find one.  In the end it was a blessing that we didn't end up buying on and having that loan payment ontop of all of her hospital bills.  So you can see why I was not eager to start this whole process all over again.  Of course this time I'm trying to be hopeful that we will not only find a van but end up needing it this time! Ironically less than 2 days after we actively started looking for vans we found one!  Not only found one,  but also bought it and brought it home!   Yes while it was still a lot of work to get it checked out and get all the bank paperwork done and such it actually (especially...

Bridgett's way with words.

Bridgett has been sick lately so we have just been hanging out watching shows and letting her recoup.  Her fever has been so high that I just want her to take it easy,  its the only time I encourage tv time!   Half way through the day she decided she needed something from her room so she got up to go get it.  She got to the door of my room,  turned to look at me and said "Mommy will you plug up my show please?" Awwww that's my girl!  I had a good giggle of her way of asking for her show to be paused.   I love how Bridgett expresses herself and the words she chooses to use,  It makes me smile every time and I'll be sad when she stops doing it and start talking just like every one else!

Baby Photoshoot

Image
So as a photographer I love to try new things,  And the one thing that i've never had a chance to try, is a newborn baby photo shoot.  I've done weddings, bridals, family photos,  sr pictures, mission photos,  but I've never shot a new born baby.  How does that happen you ask if I've had 3 babies of my own?  Well... Recovering from a c-section and taking care of a little one is about all I can do after giving birth,  I'm not one of those women who has a baby on saturday and is back to church the next day with the whole family in tow.  So the only way for me to try a baby photo shoot is to borrow someone else's baby,  and how exactly do you ask for that?  Oh hey you just had a baby?  Can I borrow it?  PLEASE?  ummmm yes.  I've never really had the guts to ask!   But my friend Melissa just had a baby 4 weeks ago and I decided to jump in and.. well... ask!  So today she brought over her baby and we attempted ph...
