A new name needed

Our blog needs a new name,  we are now no longer one boy and two little girls, but are 3 boys and two little girls... this may take some thinking to find a cute name.  Any one have any ideas?

Weird Weather

Image
We have been having the weirdest weather this year.  It's now almost half way through feb and we have not really had hardly any snow.  I think Dusty and Aaron have shoveled once... and it was all gone long before the end of the day.   This is the only winter that I have ever seen like this.  It's odd and almost alarming.  I'm hoping that it does not start dumping snow in May!  Trust me,  weirder things have happened. Dusty has gotten some great photos of our weird weather though so I thought I would post them on the blog.

Dinner!

Image
This pregnancy has been different that all my other pregnancy's,  and I'm just trying to go with the flow.  I keep telling myself that I'm more tired than usual because there are two babies in there not just one!  That I'm more uncomfortable than usual not because anything is going wrong but because its' twins!  Anyway,  I'm so much more tired with this pregnancy than any of the others so I'll be the first to admit for dinners Dusty has left to fend for himself a lot lately.   So he had a good laugh when he came home the other day I was so excited to tell him that I had made dinner for him!  He looked on the stove to find this.... now I know it looks bad but really,  I was just happy that remembered to get his favorite kind of soup when I was at the store that day!   Love you Dusty!  I hope your dinner was yummy :D

My Handy Helper

Image
Aaron is getting so big these days!  I can't believe that he is almost 8 years old!  Where has the time gone?  He is in 2nd grade and loving it!  He loves his Teacher and she is a wonderful fit for him.   She says that having him in class is a joy and she's so excited to have him.  He is very smart,  he now comes home with advanced Math and has recently started coming home with advanced spelling too.  Which is good because his normal words he looks at once and has them memorized.  For the first time he has to work a little bit to get his words down but he is doing wonderful!  And his words are NOT easy so I'm so proud of him. He is a huge helper around the house,  Just the other day my Vacuum was clogged,  so he and Daddy sat down to work on it for me.   He has his own tools and loves to put them to good use.  He and Daddy found the clog and fixed my vacuum  better than ever! He is so excited to have two baby...

Bridgett says the funniest things

Today I had an early morning Dr's appointment for the babies.  I dropped Bridgett and Aaron off at Mom's house and went on my way.  Ran through the usual things at the office.  Blood pressure looks great and then Dr Bean did a quick Ultra sound.   Of course both the babies are still breach.  They seem to not like to be head down.  Which really is not a concern for us since I have to have a C-section anyway.  Not a huge deal if they stay breach or not.  We got our first peek at Baby A's face,  he usually has his head turned away from us as he likes to be folded in half, but this time he peeked out through his legs so we got a good view of his eyes nose and month and chubby cheeks.  After the appointment I went back to Mom's to go get Bridgett and as I came through the door she came running to me from down the hall and she said to me "Mommy the Dr. say they were two girls now?" "Um no sweetie I'm sorry they are still two boys." "STIL...

Another Ultrasound update

Today I went to the Hospital and had another Ultra sound with Maternal Fetal Medicine.  Other than both of the babies being in kind of a funky position  everything looks great.  And the babies are not measuring small by any means!  Baby A is about 2lbs 8 oz and Baby B is about 2lbs 11oz.  But it was good to see their little hearts beating away and watch them snuggle together.  I have a little break from dr's appointments for a couple of weeks but it will be fun to see how much they have grown the next time we get to have a peek at them.

An update on Bridgett

Bridgett is getting so big these days and doing so many new things, I just knew i needed to do an update on her. She is still doing Gymnastics and loving it!  Every day she asks me if she can go,  she gets so excited when I tell her that it's wed and yes its' Gymnastics day! She is getting so much better with her speech,  She loves to go to speech therapy and does love to her new speech teacher this year.  She now puts the P, K, T, D sounds all on the end of her words with out being asked to.  Words than end in an N M W  are still a challenge but they will come. Even though she is  speaking better she still has her own language and I love it! Bowldoon is Balloon Sparkle cheese is grated cheese.  It took me a while to figure out WHY she called it this.  It was not until we decorated cookies and she got all excited when I pulled out the sprinkles and she announced they were sparkles  makes more sense now huh? Squished...

Happy Birthday Sweet Colette!

Image
Today marks 2 years since Colette has joined our family,  and two years since she went back home.  Oh how we all miss her!  We talk about her a lot and even though she is gone she is still very much a part of our family, and always will be!   I've had a plan for this day for several weeks now.  I have to have a plan or I'm afraid that I won't make it through the day.    Imagine my surprise as I overheard Aaron the week before telling Bridgett how excited he was for Colette's Birthday and how it's such a fun day.  Which is good  I'm glad that someone is looking forward to her birthday, but it was just such a shock to me to realize how differently we were looking at this day. So we got up this morning and got ready for the day.  We actually got some snow over night so Daddy and Aaron went and shoveled the sidewalks and drive way while Bridgett watched me finish up Colette's cupcakes.  Colette's two little candles.  Happy 2nd...

Fetal Echo's

Today Dusty and I went up to Primary Children's and had fetal echo's done on the babies hearts.    It was nerve wracking for sure!  I had to keep telling myself that we were there simply because of Colette's history not because there was anything that they could see wrong with the boys hearts.   All in all it was a long appointment.  After wards we talked to the Dr and he asked about Colette's story,  It's a good thing I've gotten a lot of practice telling her story.  Oh don't get me wrong I could tell her story a million times and I never know when I'm going to be able to say it calmly and when I'm going to bawl through the whole thing.  But I have had a lot of practice tell her story and I think it does help. The Dr told us that Baby B's heart looks perfect he can see the whole thing and every thing look great.  Big sigh of relief!  Baby A?  Well his Tech thinks that she could see blood flowing between t...

Keeping busy

Image
It's January again.  The longest and hardest most bittersweet month of the year for me  and a month that I have to work extra hard to keep myself busy.  So I've been trying to keep busy with projects. My latest project was making some baby boy blankets for these little guys.  When I was pregnant with Colette I only made one blanket because I had so many left over from Bridgett that that was all I needed.  In the end it was the blanket that I ended up sending her to the mortuary in,  I was so grateful to have something made by mommy to wrap her in.  This time around I'm realizing that I don't really have any baby boy blankets.  I had several when Aaron as little 8 years ago but he was my blanket boy and he loved them all to nothing!   So I knew I needed to get sewing.  And I wanted to get it done because sitting at a sewing machine while very pregnant it not the most comfortable thing in the world.  So I've been picking our darling...

Happy Birthday Nannie!

Image
Tomorrow is our family birthday dinner for Nannie,  And it was my job to bring the cake.  So today while the kids were busy playing with the Grandparents I was busy working on a Chocolate cake with Chocolate frosting. Don't mind my flash it made my frosting look funky colored but I promise it's just one color! I hope she likes it!  Happy Birthday Nannie!

Ordering our first set of two!

Image
Today I ordered our first set of two.... Two car seats to be exact!  With the pregnancy being two babies and with it being over 8 years since we bought all of our last baby things,  we are finding that while these are our last babies we are needing to start over,  Car seats expire, Cribs break and or are recalled... and strollers well we've never needed a stroller to fit two before.   However this has been rather fun and exciting!  For the first time since we've started having children I get to actually pick out new baby things, and it's pretty fun! I've been on the hunt for an infant car seat.  My goodness they have come a long way in the last 8 years with car seats!  When we were pregnant with Aaron they really didn't have a huge variety of car seats.  there were a few brands but they all went to the same height, and weight and you pretty much just picked the pattern that you liked and called it good.  Now oh my goodness!  ...
