Five Beautiful Blessings Between Heaven & Earth

So this post is a little after I finished this craft but I wanted to make sure that my friend got it first before I blogged about it. My friend Shay also lost her baby girl, I haven't known her for very long but if feels like she has always been a part of my life. It kills me that she knows the same pain that I do of loosing your baby, But I know that one day the Lord will make it right! While Daisy's will always remind us of Colette, For Shay it's butterflies that remind their family of their precious Isabella. So now when I see butterflies I think of them, and wouldn't you know it, but that there are tons of beautiful fabrics out there right now wither butterflies on them, so I decided to make her a baby blanket with butterflies. But I figured this time I should try something new so instead of using the normal batting and tying it I used the warm and natural batting and did the stippling by hand on my machine. So it's Uncle Kyle's Birthday and I figured what a great time to try a new recipe, So I decided to make the chocolate mouse cake in my book, It was a time consuming cake, and I don't think I'll make it again, Everyone said it was good but not nearly as good as the cake I made for Dad's birthday. I have to tell you though that by the time dusty came home I was so ready for just chuck the whole cake into the garbage! I can't even begin to tell you all the things that went wrong. but in the end it all worked out and I have to say it was very impressive looking! Let me know what you think! I wish I had remember to get a photo of the inside of the cake, but sadly I forgot to do so. Anyway we hope you had a great birthday Kyle!

This is Aaron on his first day of First grade This is Aaron and Bridgett on Aaron's first day of first grade This is Bridgett on Aaron's first day of school, (she has no idea that she is loosing her playmate for 6 hours a day from here on out!) Today it has been 7 months since we lost our beautiful Colette, she is still in our hearts and on our minds constantly. But I don't think that will ever change. Every day I wait for the pain to grow easier to bear, but it doesn't. The hole in our family is ever present. And always will be until we are reunited again. Aaron speaks of her often, How he wishes she didn't have to die. And we all agree that we wish the same thing. Bridgett's learning how to say her name more clearly. We still walk often to visit her headstone. Sometimes on Sundays we have Family Home Evening gathered around her headstone. The spirit is strong there and perhaps sometimes she even joins us for a brief moment. Yes its' been 7 months and in some ways it still feels like we are in Feb and other ways it feels like the longest 7 months of our lives. We love you baby girl and miss you always!

so this time it was chocolate cupcakes with white frosting. and well I was a bit disappointed with the cupcake recipe this time, it was more of a Milk chocolate and not much chocolate flavoring (or so my taste testers told me) but even the look of it was not what I was looking for, it looked more like a muffin than a cupcake. So I need to figure out more of a devil's food recipe so I'm still off to find the perfect chocolate cupcake. But we did take some over to the new neighbors to welcome them into the neighbor hood so hopefully they thought they were good!

I have lots and lots of improvements to make to be who I want to be but I think that by putting this quote where I can see it ever day will help me to remember to reach out to others as others reached out to me when we lost our Darling Colette.

So I'm on a quest. To find the perfect cupcake! Have you ever notice how beautiful bakery cupcakes are, and then you take the first bight and.... disappointment! Usually they are dry, bland, stale or all of the above. So My quest is to find perfect recipes for white and chocolate cakes and then frosting. My first attempt was with a white cake recipe and a chocolate butter cream frosting. I think the first attempt was pure success! Well at least that is what I'm told. I'm still sugar free so I have to rely on everyone else's opinions. But all the reviews seem positive! I think we have a winner for a white cake recipe. Now to find a chocolate cake recipe to match!
