My Handy Helper
Aaron is getting so big these days! I can't believe that he is almost 8 years old! Where has the time gone? He is in 2nd grade and loving it! He loves his Teacher and she is a wonderful fit for him. She says that having him in class is a joy and she's so excited to have him. He is very smart, he now comes home with advanced Math and has recently started coming home with advanced spelling too. Which is good because his normal words he looks at once and has them memorized. For the first time he has to work a little bit to get his words down but he is doing wonderful! And his words are NOT easy so I'm so proud of him.
He is a huge helper around the house, Just the other day my Vacuum was clogged, so he and Daddy sat down to work on it for me. He has his own tools and loves to put them to good use. He and Daddy found the clog and fixed my vacuum better than ever!
He is so excited to have two baby boys on the way, and even though it means that he will either have to share a room with Bridgett or move downstairs to Daddy's office he does not seem to mind. We have already warned him about how life will have to change after the babies are born, that taking care of two babies is going to be really hard for Mommy and Daddy, and he has taken it all in stride. I wonder if maybe we haven't stressed the point to much when he asked me if he would still be able to take doughnuts to school for his birthday, I responded with of course! Why would you not be able to, and his reply was well the babies.... I smiled and told him that while it might not be Mommy who helps him to take his birthday treat to class I would make sure that he still got to do it.
He knows and understands that we will need to push his baptism back by a few months so that Mommy and the whole family can be there to see it happen. And he understands that I won't be able to take him and Bridgett swimming this summer like I normally do. I felt bad when he told me what birthday cake he wanted this year and I told him that was fine but that Mommy was going to order it from a Bakery just this once because mommy would be recovering from Surgery. He told me that was find and then thought for a moment. He asked me with a worried look on his face if it was going to be to hard every year for me to make their birthday cake and then just days later to make his. I laughed and assured him that no that would not be to hard for me that it was only this year that it would be hard. Needless to say he seemed very relieved. But I have no doubt that even if he did have to give up his birthday cake from now on he would think it was worth it to add two new babies to our family. That's just the kind of boy Aaron is. I'm so glad that he's part of our family!

I love this photo! Love how he scratches his head while he tries to figure out which tool would be best!
