Home Depot Days

Image
The first saturday of every month has become at our house Home Depot Days!  For probably the last year Grandma Teetah and Grandpa Ken have come to pick up Aaron and take him to Home Depot to buy a kit to make something out of wood.  Recently about 4 months ago Bridgett has started joining him too.  Every month they look forward to Home Deopt day and are always excited to bring home something new.  After they finish their kit they get a pin from Home Depot to put on their aprons. They get so excited to get another pin! I finally got a photo of the two of them together in their aprons They have built everything from helicopters to pencil boxes,  Bridgett even made me this the very first time she went! look how cute!  and of course Grandma said she wanted to do it "all by herself!"

Our first play date post family leaving

So it's been really ummmmm what's the word...  moopy at my house.  Not a word?   Oh trust me it is!  Lots of sad faces,  bottom lips quivering and dragging on the floor behind the kids,  Aaron even went as far as to ask me if I had found a van to buy yet so we could drive to California to visit Uncle Roo Auntie D and "his guys"  Ummmm no,  sorry not yet!   So I decided that some desperate action needed to be taken!  So I called up on of my best friends Shanna and scheduled a play date with her and her kids for the first friday after our family went home.  It was a good diversion!  I think the kids had a great time.  Until our friends went home and then the mopies returned.  Yes it's very sad at our house.  Cue the tears....   Thanks Shanna for coming to visit us and taking our minds off our sad feelings for a while! Tonight was also Dusty's Uncle Dean's wedding so we hurried and got everyone ready and head...

I getting bigger!!

Image
Every day,  several times of day Bridgett tells me "I getting bigger Mommy!"  and then because she knows it upsets her brother she says "Aaron's getting smaller!"  Dad asked me one day what it was we told her she could do when she "got bigger"  Well nothing really but she does still tell us every day that she's getting bigger.    Today she proved how big she is getting.  Today for the first time when we played a family game of CandyLand Bridgett was on a team all by herself!  She didn't hardly need any help at all!  She was so excited and so proud of herself!  Here she is so excited to play by herself with no help!  And look she is actually winning!  so carefully picking just one card  it was a rough game for poor daddy  he kept moving one one or two spaced ahead each turn.  Aaron kept getting doubles and moving 5-10 spaces ahead  look at those cute hands as she carefully moved her little guy ahead ...

Wed night visit

Tonight while Dusty has his meeting my good friend Melissa came over to visit me.  It's been a long time since I've had time to visit with friends,  I kind of put everything on hold while my family was here,  I thought I could still slip in a few play dates or visits here and there but now that my kids are older they just wanted to play play play with the cousins and we had so much fun!  But it was nice to see Melissa I've missed my friends while my family was here.  She is pregnant with their 5 child and she is so excited that this one is another boy!  She was pregnant with their 4th baby while I was pregnant with Colette,  we didn't overlap a whole lot in pregnancies but never the less we were pregnant at the same time and while I am very happy for her,  it is hard at times for me to think that this is one more person who will be bringing home baby number two while my arms are still empty.  I didn't realize how hard it would be when people ...

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Image
Today is Mom and Dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary,  It's also the last day that Roy, Dean and their boys will be in town they leave early tomorrow morning. :(   So we tried to make the most of it!  We hung out at mom and dad's house most of the day,  We went to lunch all together   I'm pretty sure that THIS was Bridgett's favorite part of the whole meal.  Here she is giving me the out of the corner "no touchie" look  she's always afraid that someone will take her treat.  Aaron enjoyed his as well! Shortly after lunch we went home because we were having everyone over to our house for dinner one last time.  Since it was Mom and Dad's free day I got everything ready to make 4 huge homemade pizzas.  But My sister Dean and I have a few more tricks up our sleeves!  We got Dusty's office all ready put one of his laptops down there and spread out a blanket so that when every one came over we let the kids pick out a movie and sent ...

Photos and the pool

This morning my Auntie Gaylynn came over and we got her some photos that she needed.  She works for University of Phenix, and she needed some photos for when she lectures (at least I think that's what she said.)   I know she is not a big fan of getting her photo taken,  like me she prefers to be behind the camera,  but we all have to have our photos taken sometime!   I thought we got some great photos of her! Later in the afternoon we all went to the pool,  While we were there we talked to Missy,  The kids loved seeing her,  they miss their swim lessons!  I'm still amazed at Aaron and Bridgett's progress this summer as Missy said.  I have two little fishes!  Bridgett still love to throw herself down under the water and kick while doing pizza arms.  The funny thing is that she never goes anywhere when she does this.  Sometimes she even manages to go backwards.  ??   But I'm hoping that it will click soon...

"Where's Aaron go?"

It's been very quiet at our house the last couple of days... Poor Bridgett has been wondering around the house trying to figure out what has happened to Aaron.  What has happened?  Well he's been spending the nights and well the days too for the most part at Grandma's with "his guys"  He is loving his new freedom I think.  He is exhausted but trying hard not to show it.  Roy's family will only be in town a few more days and all I can think of is... keep going,  keep having fun we can sleep and clean when they go back home,  must enjoy!  must spend time!  Must get as much family time as we can while they are still here!!!! So we have just been hanging out and and enjoying.
