Our first play date post family leaving

So it's been really ummmmm what's the word...  moopy at my house.  Not a word?   Oh trust me it is!  Lots of sad faces,  bottom lips quivering and dragging on the floor behind the kids,  Aaron even went as far as to ask me if I had found a van to buy yet so we could drive to California to visit Uncle Roo Auntie D and "his guys"  Ummmm no,  sorry not yet!   So I decided that some desperate action needed to be taken!  So I called up on of my best friends Shanna and scheduled a play date with her and her kids for the first friday after our family went home.  It was a good diversion!  I think the kids had a great time.  Until our friends went home and then the mopies returned.  Yes it's very sad at our house.  Cue the tears....   Thanks Shanna for coming to visit us and taking our minds off our sad feelings for a while!

Tonight was also Dusty's Uncle Dean's wedding so we hurried and got everyone ready and headed up to Highland.  Aaron had lots of questions and I didn't really know how to answer them.  To me the thought of divorce or one partner in a relationship just deciding that they are not in love any more and wanting out is much harder to explain to my 6 year old than Death.  One we have no control over,  it happens when it's meant to and we know that the Lord has a plan and we have to learn to trust in Him.  The other,  well the other can happen (and in this case did happen)  when one spouse chooses to make poor decisions and finds herself in love with someone else besides her husband.   This too the other partner is left feeling like they have no control over it, but in my opinion it would be so much hard to not place blame.  However having watched the situation I now how an even stronger testimony of Heavenly Father's love for each of us in this life.  I have seen him bless Uncle Dean for remaining strong and true to his faith, and reward him for having faith by blessing his life with a wonderful woman who is head over heels in love with him.   I know that sometimes our lives can be changed because of decision that other people make.   And while it can hurt,  Heavenly Father will help to heal us.

Uncle Dean is now married to a wonderful woman,  ( I don't know her very well but she seems pretty amazing)  and now has 3 step daughter to add to his 5 sons.

Bridgett of course was in heaven at the wedding because she found a kitty there that actually let her play with it!
