Happy Birthday Nannie!

Today was Nannie's Birthday!  So since Mom was out of town visiting my brother's family we decided to have her and Papa and Dad over for dinner.  And of course I had to make dessert!  Can you guess what it was?  Nannie is a huge chocolate fan so I made some chocolate cupcakes with chocolate ganache for frosting.  They turned out really pretty!


 
Of course Aaron and Bridgett were in heaven!  Aaron's favorite sweet is still chocolate and I don't often make chocolate cupcakes especially with chocolate frosting.  He and Bridgett licked every bight clean.    I sent a dozen home with Nannie and Papa and then after everyone left I still had 18 cupcakes left :(  Not such a good thing when you are only 10 days sugar free.  So I boxed them up and tried to figure out who I should doorbell ditch them too.  I asked Dusty who he thought I should take them too and he suggested that I just put on face-book that I have fresh from scratch cupcakes baked fresh that day and the first to come get them its' all theirs.  It was actually really fun to see who was out there and paying attention on facebook.  I ended up handing 12 over the back fence to Jen,  and Lisa walked down the street to pick up the last six.  The next time I feel like baking but don't have anywhere to take it when it's done.  I'm so doing this again.  It was actually quite a fun way to get rid of sweet treats!  Thanks Jen and Lisa for taking them off my hands for me!  You guys are the best! :)

All in all I think that Nannie had a good birthday even though Mom was out of town.

A not so fun support group meeting

Tonight was our monthly support group meeting.   I was actually looking forward to it, and hoping that it would be a good meeting.  I have found some really wonderful friends there.  There were a lot of new people there tonight and I've never seen it so full.   Which of course is not a good thing.  It always makes me sad to think that someone else has to loose a baby too. However it was NOT a good meeting tonight.  I'm totally baffled how someone can sit in a room full of people who have ALL lost a child in one way or another and say that no one knows what they are going through and that what they went through is far worse than what everyone else has gone through... Yea for me personally a miscarriage would be far easier than what we did go through for Colette, but I would never say to anyone that had a miscarriage that what I went through was far worse than what they went through.  I would never dream of it!  Yet I had to sit through ...

Another Ultrasound update

Today I went to the Hospital and had another Ultra sound with Maternal Fetal Medicine.  Other than both of the babies being in kind of a funky position  everything looks great.  And the babies are not measuring small by any means!  Baby A is about 2lbs 8 oz and Baby B is about 2lbs 11oz.  But it was good to see their little hearts beating away and watch them snuggle together.  I have a little break from dr's appointments for a couple of weeks but it will be fun to see how much they have grown the next time we get to have a peek at them.
