Happy Easter and 15 months for Colette
This year Easter happened to also be Colette's 15 months anniversary. And it was also only the 2nd time that the 24th has landed on a Sunday since the day she was born. I'm a very grateful that the 24th only lands on a Sunday about 2 times a year. I'm not sure I could handle it more than that right now. So I tried very hard to focus on Easter, that because of what Jesus did for us that our family can once again be together forever. That we will all have a resurrected body and that I will raise my daughter in the next life.
But of course even with the joy I feel at knowing these thing and even with how grateful I am to my older brother for what he has done to make this possible there were still a few moments of sadness. But all in all it was a good day. One of those Bitter Sweet days.
As I dressed Bridgett for church in her new "pretties" I once again realized what I probably always will on these occasions. That there should be two little girls in matching dresses not just one. That I should be doing two little heads of hair, not just one. And two little pairs of black sunday shoes should be tap tap tapping all over the house.... not just one. Perhaps one day in this life I will still be able to buy two matching dresses for such occasions, not just one. But for now... its' hard. And I guess even then I'll feel like there should be three matching dresses not just two...
Aaron and Bridgett both got new Church outfits. Bridgett was so excited to be able to wear her! Its been sitting in her closet for 3 weeks now and every sunday she asks if she can wear the "Pink Pretty" this week. She was so excited that this week was the week. And when I added the matching gloves and purse that Auntie Dean bought her she was So very excited. Everyone at Church stopped her to tell her how pretty she looked, and to everyone she had to tell her very long detailed story about how Auntie bought her her gloves and her purse and she was so excited to have them! She's quite the character. She wore those gloves for the whole 3 hours and was so sad when we took them off after Church. Thanks Auntie Dean they were a hit!
Can you tell who was feeling photogenic and who was not?
We told the kids that the Easter Bunny was not going to be coming till while we were at Church. since our ward started at 9am I really didn't want to try to deal with that before leaving for Church. The children seemed just fine with it and it was a nice way to divide the day, the candy between the spiritual.
Happy Easter! We hope you all had a wonderful day!

What cute kids!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I know about the dresses. Every holiday, I pass the frilly little dresses and just stare at them. Your Colette is not far from you.
