Lagoon!
We decided to take one last family trip the week before school start. Aaron is going into 2nd grade and we have never taken him to Lagoon. At first I was not going to take Bridgett, but then as it got closer I decided that we should go and make it a family thing. Of course I always stress out that I'm going to loose her, but I figured between Dusty and I we could keep tabs on her.
Here Bridgett and I are sitting together enjoying a ride across the top of the park. Taken by Daddy and Aaron who were in the seat behind us.

We pulled up in the parking lot and got things ready, we put sunblock on every one and packed the back pack with some snacks and left the stroller and everything else in the car, and made out way to get tickets to get into the park. The kids were so excited! I don't even know if they really were even aware of what it was we were going to do, but they were bouncing with excitement!
We went to buy our tickets, Of course we happened to go on the day that there were no specials, no sales, nothing. Which was fine we knew it would cost a bit but It was worth it. As the lady told us what or total was. for 4 all day passes to get in the guy in the line next to us leaned over and said oh hey here use this coupon I have an extra one. Needless to say we were very grateful , his one coupon took our total down from $200.00 to only $100.00! We were shocked and thanked him again!
We walked into the park and the kids wanted to go about 4 different directions all at the same time! It was so fun to watch them. We spent most of the time taking them on younger rides but it was worth it to watch how much fun they had. And this year turned out to be the perfect year to go. Aaron was just under the height limit of being to big and Bridgett was just over the height limit of being to small so this was the only summer that Aaron could go with Bridgett and take his sister on all the rides so that I didn't have to worry about her going on her own. I think they had a great time.
Bridgett was so excited to ride the train, I love this photo especially the nice man behind us that looks so excited to be a part of our train ride! We took the teddy bear back pack for Bridgett and she loved it. She loves wearing it and feeling like she has more freedom and does not have to spend the whole time trying to hold someone's hand. We never did get the stroller from the car, this little trooper ran all over the whole park and had a blast. It was interesting to see people's reactions to her being on a "leash" I heard everything from "oh gosh why didn't we think of that that would have been so much easier" to "oh how horrible! because I love my child I would NEVER put them on a leash like a dog". Now that one I had a big chuckle with. Because I love my daughter and don't want her to get lost or kidnapped, I have no problem putting a stuffed animal backpack on her back and holding on to the tail :)
Everyone had a "buddy" Aaron was with Daddy and Bridgett was with Mommy. I was surprised at how much energy the kids had! We stayed at the park until after 7 pm.
and there were happy faces just like this all day long!
Bridgett loved the train ride. All she did the whole time was jump from one side of me to the other depending on what side all the animals were on. It was all I could do to keep her in the train cart with me!

Aaron and Bridgett went on lots of kids rides together and had a wonderful time!
We did go on a few adult rides. I was surprised at how little fear Bridgett and Aaron have. I guess I should not be... but we all went on the log flue ride. nice and peaceful until you get to that last long drop.... totally made mommy scream but it was only Mommy who freaked out I guess! Everyone else loved it! Bridgett even dragged us ALL on the newest roller coaster in the park TWICE!!!! The Bom Bora!
Not a small roller coaster by any means! But she was just sure that she wanted to go on it, So we did. I was nervous thinking that she was going to freak out half way through and there was not going to be anything I could do about it until it was over :( But after it was done when we rolled up to the end I looked at her and I said what do you think? And after her eyes stopped rolling around in her head she looked up and yelled "AGAIN!" So we did it one more time.
I think that and the bumper cars were a favorite of Aaron and Bridgett's. Daddy took Aaron on some more scary rides (haunted houses types) Bridgett and I went on one with them but she didn't' care for them and to tell the truth I don't much either so while Daddy and Aaron did more of those, Bridgett and I went on the carousel. She was in Heaven and even managed to find a white horsey to sit on.
The kids enjoyed slushes, and dipping dots and we all shared fries. Dusty and I were excited to see one of the performances. Sadly we were very disappointed, It was not very impressive. the costumes where way skimpy (especially for saying its' a family setting good grief people! cover up!!!) and most of the kids could not even sing. But the kids enjoyed it and I guess that's the important part. Although Bridgett I had to hang on to because she wanted to go up on stage and join them.
At the end of the day everyone was pretty tired and hungry but as we walked out of the park Bridgett reminded us that all day long she had been asking to run and play in the water by the entrance to the park. So while sat down for a bit Aaron and Bridgett, well Bridgett more so than Aaron ran and played in the water as the sun was starting to set.
Thank goodness I had thought to pack extra shorts, undies and shirts for both the kids just in case. After they played we walked out to the car, dried them off, changed their clothes and started for home. We stopped at Denny's in town on our way home and had a very late dinner. It was after 9:00 pm before we got the kids home and into bed but it was such a great day. We may just have to do this once a year! Next time though we will have to bring everyone's swim suits and take a few hours to play at Lagoona beach since that is now part of your enterence fee and not a separate cost.
