Happy Anniversary Dusty!
May 10th was our 9 year wedding anniversary. It's kind of amazing to look back over the last 9 years and see all the things that Dusty and I have been through together, have survived together, and have grown closer through together. It's been quite a wild ride, lots of ups and downs and even some loop de loops. And of course it's fun to look back and see how our family has grown, from just the two of us, to having 3 beautiful children.
This year for our anniversary we got on an airplane and flew across the country to visit my Sister and her family for a week. Ten years ago Tamara and her husband moved to Worcester Massachusetts and I have never been back there to visit them. They just bought a house a few months ago so I thought that maybe this would be the perfect time to go and visit and see their new house.
Did I mention that it's a long plane ride? I have no idea how she does it with all her little ones when they come visit.
But we finally made it and got to her house at 1 in the morning their time. We had a great time spending the week with them and here are some highlights from our trip.
We went on a walk on the rail trail. It was very pretty and I love that in the middle of a big city there is a little piece of nature.
I love how green everything is! I think that is one of the things that I miss the most from living in Maryland is how green things are! I love Utah but sometime living in a desert is ... a little brown :(
on Saturday we got a chance to go here....
It's a beautiful Temple! A little smaller than most of them in Utah but it was so fun to go and do a session with Dusty and Tamara. When we got there the session turned out to be a Spanish speaking session so all of us who only spoke English ended up with Headphones so we could listen in English. There were far more headphones on people than not. but I think it's great that they do sessions in different languages. It was a cool experience.
These flower beds are ones that Tamara's kids went to the Temple and helped plant these tulip bulbs in, So I took a photo of them so the kids could see what great work they did and how beautiful they are!
After our session and walking around a bit to get some photos. (so glad that I have a photo of the Boston Temple to add to my collection now! ) I told Tamara while holding my camera up that I just wanted to "shoot up" and then I would be done. We just stared at each other and laughed at how bad that sounded. Tamara suggested that I not say that to loud. but really what I meant was this....
Hopefully Heavenly Father has a good sense of humor since I'm sure anyone who heard me say that and didn't see the camera in my hand now thinks that I'm a druggie! I guess I should be more careful about thinking of how things sound before I say them. Especially while standing in holy places!
On Sunday we went to Church, It was fun to meet new people, the funniest part was how shocked everyone seemed to be that even though we were sisters that Tamara's hair is so light and mine is so dark. I even had one guy ask me if I die my hair darker. Nope!
While we were there we also made lots of skirts for the girls. 7 to be exact!
and one of these. On sunday all the girls went to Church in home made skirts. Pretty impressive if you ask me! It was a great week and we had lots of fun. But I'm grateful now to be back home in my own bed with my little ones I missed them a lot!
