Happy Memorial Day.

Today was memorial day,  and it rained almost the whole day.  :(  Sadly we didn't get to do our annual family walk up to the cemetery.   It was a hard day for me at least and a little sun would have been nice.  But it was just not meant to be.  We did get a little break in the clouds right before the kids bedtime so we hopped into the car and went up to the cemetery.   It's beautiful this time of year.  As far as the eye can see there are flowers everywhere!   There are some headstones near Colette's and every year their families do the most beautiful flower pieces with real flowers, for their 3 family members who are at the cemetery.  It's fun to see them every year.  I kind of prefer the silk flowers myself since they last so much longer.    But it is fun to see all the beautiful things that people do for their loved ones.  Most of the time when we go visit Colette we don't often see people in the cemetery at the same time as us,  but it's nice on Memorial day to actually "SEE"  that we are not the only ones who have been touched by the death of a loved one.   It's nice to sit by Colette's headstone and know that everyone else there is also there to spend time with a loved one too.

I was excited when I found her flowers this year,  they were the only ones that I found that felt like they were for someone young, and I love all the colors.   And I'm so happy that her solar light is still there.
