Last day of School

Yes I know I'm a little behind in my blogging so forgive me as I catch up! Today was Aaron's last day of school, or rather last hour and a half of school. On the last day of school tracks 1 and 2 both go to school for an hour and a half at the same time. I'm sure you can imagine how impossiblethe drop off/ pick up points are with that many cars all at the same time. So Bridgett and I walked Aaron to school, walkedhome, checked out "her white horse" on the corner on the way home. (Bridgett thinks that all white horses are hers every time we pass one she says oh there's my white horse! usually followed by It's dirty!!!!" really its' the cheapest low maintenance way tohave a pet :) So today since we were walking we stopped by the field and she tried to call the horses over to visit with her which none of them were willing to do since she had no carrots ) We did the dishes when we got home and then turned around and walked to go get Aaron again. On the way home Aaron told me he was so excited to look at his report card. He mentioned that he had been really trying to get all 4's! A 4 represents a mastered skill so we = them to A's at our house. (I was shocked to hear he had been trying to get all 4's! Is he really old enough to have such a goal???) When we got home we looked at his report card and sure enough my smarty pants achieved his goal. All A's!!!! Congratulations Aaron we are so very proud of you! I know that 1st grade was a bit of a struggle between missing home and missing Colette but you have done some amazing things this year and Mommy and Daddy are so very proud of you! You are such a good example and big brother to both of your sisters! We love you!
On the last day of school our ward has a traditional hot do roast water party. Really it's lots of fun. This year my friend down the street had it in their yard and a couple of days ago she knocked on our door to bring us a invite/flyer. She explained that each flyer asked you to bring to share either a bag of chips, a salad or a dessert and she was going to be randomly handing out the next day but wanted to bring my by herself today to make sure I had a certain one. I smiled and said "Oh you want me to bring chips?" She laughed and said NO! I want you to bring a dessert! lol It totally made my day! So I decided that it would be a good time to try out some new recipes. I would have plenty of tasters at this party! So I decidedto make 4 bunt cakes, Slice them all up and put them in a cake box. Bridgett and Aaron helped me get them all made. We made...

Chocolate chocolate chip
Almond poppy seed
Lemon Bundt Cake
And Pumpkin Streusel

We all had a great time at the end of year party, and everyone seemed to love the cakes. By the end of the 2 hours there was not even a crumb left! Happy Summer everyone!!!
