Fetal Echo's
Today Dusty and I went up to Primary Children's and had fetal echo's done on the babies hearts. It was nerve wracking for sure! I had to keep telling myself that we were there simply because of Colette's history not because there was anything that they could see wrong with the boys hearts. All in all it was a long appointment. After wards we talked to the Dr and he asked about Colette's story, It's a good thing I've gotten a lot of practice telling her story. Oh don't get me wrong I could tell her story a million times and I never know when I'm going to be able to say it calmly and when I'm going to bawl through the whole thing. But I have had a lot of practice tell her story and I think it does help.
The Dr told us that Baby B's heart looks perfect he can see the whole thing and every thing look great. Big sigh of relief! Baby A? Well his Tech thinks that she could see blood flowing between the bottom two ventricles which means there could be a tiny hole there. He admitted that when he came in to look he got a pretty good look at that area of the heart and he didn't see anything. So he told us that it's either VERY small or not there at all. I think the only thing that kept me from passing out was how calm the Dr was. You start talking about holes in the heart and what else do you expect from me??? But he said that most of them this tiny heal up before the baby is even born and if not then just some meds would do the trick. So we just need to ward our Pediatrician to check his heart after he's born and make sure there is no mummer. Now me personally I'm praying for it to heal BEFORE the babies are born please??? That's not to much to ask right?
He also said that there was one part of Baby A's heart that he could not see because Baby B was in way. So he can't say for sure that its' 100% healthy cuz he can't see it but he did say that if there were any problem in this particular area of the heart it would manifest else where in the heart. And he could see no signs of it so he is pretty confident that it's good too. All in all he declared that everything looked good and he announced that he didn't' feel the need to see us anymore. Which was more of a relief than anything really. This is one Dr that I really don't mind not seeing any more :)
All in all it was a long appointment but were feeling good about the results and are hoping and praying that we are still on the road to bringing to happy healthy babies into our families in a few months.
