Keeping busy

It's January again.  The longest and hardest most bittersweet month of the year for me  and a month that I have to work extra hard to keep myself busy.  So I've been trying to keep busy with projects.

My latest project was making some baby boy blankets for these little guys.  When I was pregnant with Colette I only made one blanket because I had so many left over from Bridgett that that was all I needed.  In the end it was the blanket that I ended up sending her to the mortuary in,  I was so grateful to have something made by mommy to wrap her in.  This time around I'm realizing that I don't really have any baby boy blankets.  I had several when Aaron as little 8 years ago but he was my blanket boy and he loved them all to nothing!   So I knew I needed to get sewing.  And I wanted to get it done because sitting at a sewing machine while very pregnant it not the most comfortable thing in the world.  So I've been picking our darling boy flannel and and getting blankets made.

I did them matching on the outside and different colors on the inside.  Hopefully all these blankets will get lots of use and love out of them!

Look how cute this pattern is!  Can I just tell you they have come a LONG way in boy patterns in flannel then when Aaron was born!

These two were by far the most challenging!  I don't  usually work with this material and it's not the most fun to work with but it makes beautiful soft blankets when your done!
The house work has been put on hold and I have a lot of cleaning to do tomorrow but I sewed and sewed and sewed all day today and now the last of the blankets are done!
