Pumpkin Picking days!

Friday was the annual Pumpkin picking afternoon.  Grandma Smith has some friends who have a farm and grow pumpkins and let her and all the grand kids come pick pumpkins.  We did it last year and the kids had a great time.  Sadly this year it was a little last min due to weather and I was unable to go since I was making dinner for my friends who were celebrating their 5 year anniversary.  But Dusty went with the kids and took some awesome photos for me to blog with.

Here they are walking down the road to the pumpkin patch.  At this point I think Bridgett was not really sure what exactly they were doing.  Remember last year?  Same time of year 1 year ago except here it's warm and sunny and last year they were all bundled up in their heavy winder jackets with hats and gloves!

Look Bridgett finally figured out what they are doing!  Now to find the perfect pumpkin!   Pumpkins amaze me,  the plant grows forever all summer long before it finally starts to grow Pumpkins,  then when it does finally grow pumpkins the plant dies and your left with big orange round things all over the field and dead plants.  Is it just me or is that weird???

Could it be?  Could this possibly be the perfect pumpkin????

The bounty in the back of Grandma Tee-tah's car  and nope they are not ours but 4 of them are!  Four of them you ask?  Well one for Aaron,  One for Bridgett,  one for Colette at the house and one for Colette's headstone.  The kids arrived home just as I was leaving to get dinner where it needed to go,  And let me tell you they were filthy,  exhausted and hungry!  Which is a sure sign that they had a great time.  Wish I could have been there but maybe next year!
