Swim Lessons!

Our favorite Swim teacher sent me an e-mail a week ago and said that she was teaching one last secession this summer and did I want to sign up any of my kids?  I was SO excited!!  Even thought I knew we would have family in town I went for it!  I really need to get Aaron more comfortable with swimming.  And I was NOT looking forward to signing him up for swim lessons at the rec center in Aug. ( he is very sensitive and just needs someone very patient and more one on one time)

At first I thought that mornings would be a better time for Aaron and Bridgett's swim classes and was hoping that we could be in the mornings.  When the list came out Aaron was at Noon and Bridgett at 12:30.  At first I was worried that they would not be able to do anything with their cousins with classes at that time but to be honest it has been so awesome!  We go play with cousins in the mornings till 11:30  run home,  get out swim suites on enjoy our lessons and then come home,  eat lunch and go find the cousins to play again.  It's been great!  And I'm happy to report that Aaron and Bridgett are BOTH doing great!!!

They have two more days of lessons but Aaron has started to master his fear of the deep end.  He has learned now that he can swim no matter how deep the water is!  He loves to jump off the side in the deep end,  push off the bottom of the pool and then swim across to the other side.  He's learning to put all the stroke kicks and arms together,  along with breathing to the side with free stroke.  I'm so proud of him for  trying new things like diving and jumping into the deep end even though he was nervous at first.  Go Aaron!  You will be a pro in no time!

Bridgett has also come a long way!  Last year she never wanted to even put her mouth in the blow bubbles she just wanted to float and relax,  this year it's like a little switch has been flipped.  She has realized that she can see underwater!  Now she loves to go all the way under to find toys and blow lots of bubbles and explore the world under the water!  And she pretty much has no fear,  which is good and bad all at the same time.

Her lesson is after Aaron's so I try to keep her next to me while we watch Aaron learn new things.
Can I please get in the water mommy?

Pretty please?  Just my toes?

you know you want to let me in!

I know you can't resist this smile!  please????

Mommy resisted :(

Giving up and trying to wait patiently

Finally I let Bridgett into the water to get ready for her class.

Oh she loves to be in the pool and cries when lesson is over and she has to get out!  She is learning pizza arms,  big ice cream scoop arms and kicks!

I tried to catch it but I just missed it but this girl LOVES to go all the way under!  not just her mouth or nose but her whole head!  Aaron would never do that till he was 5.  So I'm pretty proud of Bridgett for figuring it out at 3!

Thank you Missy for teaching my little ones how to be safe and have fun in the water!
