Heartbroken and frustrated.
So.... remember the wreath that Aaron and Bridgett put up in the cemetery for Colette? Mom and drove past Colette's headstone on the way home from the grocery store today and it was gone! At first I wondered if it had blown away but looking around I realized that not only was the wreath gone but so was the heavy shepherds hook that it was wired too. looking at the wreaths around where her's had stood and the flimsy poles they were held up by, my heart sank and I knew it hadn't blown away, someone had stolen it. When we put it up I had some heavy wire that Grandma Smith had given me to secure the wreath to the hook, Of course I had forgotten to bring some wire clippers so I just kept winding the wreath to the pole over and over again. I have no doubt that when whoever took it could not get it off of the pole they just took the whole pole right out of the ground. Can you believe that? I was so angry! Who would do that??? After talking to Dusty's parents we even realized when it happened. On Friday night after dust's family Christmas party we drove by Colette to see her Solor Christmas lights, they were so pretty! Aaron and Bridgett loved seeing them. You could even see them from the road which apparently was a bad thing :( because when Dusty's parents drove by 1/2 and hour later it was gone.
I just can't shake the feeling that it was teenagers out on a Friday night with nothing better to do and who's parents probably had no idea what they were doing or where they were, and I guess they thought stealing Colette's wreath with her pretty lights would be fun.
Well I hope they had fun because to be honest I'm having a hard time forgiving them. Anyway later today Mom Chadwick came and picked us all up and we ran to the Dollar store and we each picked out a few things and to the cemetery we went. Dusty and I pulled the solar Christmas lights off our wreath on our front door and took them down to the cemetery and Mom C put up a Christmas tree for Colette. we also found somethings at the dollar store to help decorate the other family headstones and it was fun to help make them all look a little bit more festive. I'm still upset about whoever took Colette's wreath, I can't believe that anyone would have such little respect and be so mean! I sure hope they feel guilty. But seeing as they felt it was perfectly ok to do what they did I am sure they won't be feeling guilty.

I cannot believe that anyone would steal anything from a graveside. I thought it was common knowledge to show respect at gravesides. I am so sorry, it is so wrong that anyone would do such a thing.
